Here in California, there are plenty of outdoor things to do. We decided to do a little walk to Lover’s Point one day and it was great. we parked downtown and headed off. It’s a walking trail and a bike path and it is right along the water. The kids were grumpy at first but they eventually enjoyed themselves.
I love being near the ocean again. This water is too cold to swim in without a wet suit so unfortunately, the kids aren’t as excited about the ocean as we are. Along the trail, we saw like 500 sea lions hanging out on their own private beach and saw lots of cool birds. One thing about being in Hawaii is the lack of “sea birds.” No seagulls over there but they are all over the place here. When we got to Lover’s Point, we stopped for snacks and were able to hang out in the grassy area before heading back home.
Since we parked downtown, the walk was not very long. We have since learned that the bike path goes practically to our neighborhood so that would be a really good walk if we ever wanted to do that. We also did get bikes last weekend so maybe we can bike it instead. 😛
