Have you ever gone on a long road trip? We just finished up a drive from Colorado to California and while we’re here, we plan to drive all over the state so having things to do in the car is important. We do have a DVD player in the car but I don’t need them having screen time for 8 hours in the car. So, I scoured the Target dollar spot and found some cool things for the 3 big kids to use in the car.
I got some clipboard boxes and filled them with some pens, an activity book, and a stationary set. For 3 kits, it cost about $15. Not too bad since my plan was to keep them happy and know that 80% of the stuff would be lost in my van somewhere. On a potty break in New Mexico, I handed them out and everyone was excited because they were new. Sneaking new toys into the mix of a travel is always more appreciated. The kids loved coloring and stickers are always a hit.
Everything fit into the clipboards and I added their names on the bottom using my silhouette because 2 were green and you just know a fight was going to break out at some point. Piglet enjoyed his in the car but never again but Mac and Blueberry are still all about them. The activity book is packed with fun things and they’ve barely made a dent in it.
If you’re going to be traveling, you definitely need to check out Target’s dollar spot or the dollar store because these fun little art kits are prefect for kids.
