Today is Teacher’s Appreciation Day! Teachers are amazing and we have been blessed to have a good ones in our lives. I know there are probably a million tutorials for gifts but since I know teachers spend so much of their own money on school supplies, I like to give gift cards as gifts. But not just a gift card in a card, this year, I picked up some red apple candy favors (aff link), a few gift cards, and some delicious candy.
To decorate the apple, I used my silhouette to cut out a couple designs. The first one I did was a pair of ballet slippers for Blueberry’s dance teacher. I got the new starburst summer splash (aff link) as a fun wink to the fact that summer break is starting. This summer is especially sad because we won’t be back next year.
After I cut out my design, I used some transfer paper to secure the shoes to the side of the apple. Since the apple is curved, it is important to use a design that will fold along the bend of the apple. Start by applying it in the middle of the design, pushing outward so you don’t get any bubbles.
I then stuck a gift card in the middle and filled it with candy. Pop the lid on and you’re ready to deliver your apple to your favorite educator.
So, are you gifting teachers this week? What’s your favorite way to show appreciation?
