Here we are again folks, Hubs and I went out to eat for lunch last week and this time, we tried the California Pizza Kitchen. Just like when we ate at Ruby Tuesdays, it was a Friday so no meat but that’s okay because cheese pizza is good. California Pizza Kitchen has a certified gluten-free menu but they can also make any pizza you want with their gluten-free crust. I chose the margherita one. Hubs got the roasted tomato on normal crust and it looked just as good.
As a starter, I got the mini-wedge salad because who can resist a wedge salad? I cannot. Although, I did have to get it sans bacon but it was still really good. Few salads toppings are as delicious as a hard boiled egg. I also got freshly ground pepper and ranch dressing. Delicious.
But now, onto the main event. The pizza. When they brought it to me, I was pleased to see how great it looked. Just like real pizza. Not like our experiment at all. But what else do you expect? They are the pros.
Overall, this was a meal that I did not feel like I was missing out on something. Other than the free bread but that’s neither here nor there. The pizza was delicious and I didn’t even notice the difference in the crust. I usually prefer a thinner crust and this was pretty good. I am certain that we will go back, and it won’t be on a Friday during Lent because they have a BBQ chicken pizza that sounds amazing!
