Can you believe January is over? I cannot. It’s crazy. This month flew by! Remember my goals?
They went super! 4 days a week, I walked at least 2 miles. Well, one day I only walked 1.5 miles but the next day I walked 2.5 so I feel like I still made my goal.
As for church, we went every week. Even when my parents came to visit, we didn’t let the vacation weekend deter us. The kids are getting used to it, which is good. Blueberry said the other day, “sneakers, church, french fries.” Because yes, we hit up McDonald’s after church. 😉
My final goal was to learn to crochet a square. I was originally starting with a chain stitch and then moving onto a single crochet. I managed to make a 2 inch by 2 inch square. Ooh wow! My mom asked me what my goal was and I told her a square, then I went to take a nap, I came downstairs and my mom had made a granny square. She hadn’t even crocheted in years!
So, she taught me how to do it. My first one was a little lopsided but still good. I’m proud of it. I made another red and blue one while my mom sat across the room and I was able to ask her questions and she was able to help me through it.
Then my parents left and came the real test. Can I make one on my own? My mom wrote out the directions and drew out diagrams so I could make it one on my own. I chose some purple yarn that I had on hand, it was a thinner yarn and so my square looks a little wonky but still, I made it 100% on my own!
– I want to make a 9 square blanket for Piglet.
– Continue to attend church every Sunday.
– Continue to walk 2 miles, 4 days a week.
