What a weekend! We didn’t mean for it to be a weekend of “firsts’ but it was. And surprisingly, it all worked out fairly well. First up, we went to the aquarium. Yes, on the island, we went to see fish in a tank. The place was small (only 3 rooms) and mostly was reef fish that they probably caught right outside. But that had a cool jelly fish room and Piglet really liked that.
After driving all the way down to Waikiki, we decided to stop at the craft store so I could pick up some goodies. It was nearly lunch time so we ate in the shopping complex by the craft store. We decided to go with Chuck E. Cheese. It was the most child-friendly option.
Neither kid ate. Hubs and I tag teamed following Piglet around. We played a few games but mostly, he just wanted to press buttons and didn’t care if he actually played. After a meltdown for trying to leave, the kids and Hubs went to the car to settle down and eat lunch while I shopped at the speed of light.

The next day, we went out to lunch and to a movie! We’ve tried to take Blueberry to the movies before and she CRIED so loud, I had to leave. I was really nervous about taking her. There was also some cup and ball tournament going on and for about 10 minutes, we lost Piglet in the crowd. Scariest 10 minutes of my life. Then we went into the movies. We saw The Lego Movies. It was awesome. Each kid got a juice and fruit snack. Blueberry loved it. She sat on her Dadddy’s lap and had a ball. Piglet sat on my lap and it took half to the movie for him to calm down. Oh well.
Overall, it was a great weekend. I am shocked at how much we were able to do. It’s reassuring that Blueberry is getting better at these things and that Piglet can (mostly) be trusted to do “big kid” stuff too.
I wonder what next weekend will bring?
