So, I’ve been trying to lose my baby weight. No. That’s not true. I’ve lost it but I’m still overweight so there we are. 20 pounds to my goal weight and I’m on a huge plateau. I don’t know how to get over it but I’m going to keep at it.
I’m always running and doing some sort of exercise, every day mostly but I’m still not eating as well as I should. Recently, several news stations have reported on the fact that even though people are getting more active, they aren’t losing weight and it’s because of our diet. And I know mine ain’t great.
Right now, I’m on a plane, flying to Hawaii to start a new life at our new duty station and I’ve got some goals for our new life.
First of all, I want to buy a juicer and start every morning with a nice, fresh juice. I’m planning on also adding a scoop of protein powder so it can be used as a complete meal replacement instead of just a giant glass of juice. I’ve been saving all my Swagbucks so I can get one for free. And I’ve been pinning tons of juice recipes. I only hope that produce isn’t too expensive on the island.
Secondly, I want to stop eating so many carbs with our meals, we usually eat a protein and some sort of side item – rice or noodles, with a small veggie side. I want to flip that to turn it into a big veggie side with a small carb. I don’t want to cut out all carbs because they’re yummy but if I fill up on protein and veggies, I won’t want as many, right? Right.
Thirdly, I need to start doing more weight workouts in addition to my runs. I know this will make the hubs happy because he has been trying to get me to lift weights since, oh forever? The only thing that would prevent that is if CYS doesn’t have hourly care available.
We’re going to be living on this island for 3 years, that’s 3 years of wearing shorts and bathing suits. I’d rather not spend those 3 years uncomfortable with how I feel in clothes. I want to spend them happy in whatever outfit I happen to be wearing so I am hoping these 3 changes will kick me off my plateau and back into the sea of weight loss.
