Have you seen the new “bento box” lunch craze on Pinterest? It seems like it’s suddenly exploded onto the bloggy world and then spilled over to Pinterest. I get how cute they are and I see how they would appeal to small children. All the little molds you can get, the little picks, the separated sections so nothing touches.
I love it.
I bought some little picks from Amazon, 10 for $5? Free really, using Swagbucks 😉 And some Ziplock divided containers. They work very well and more affordable than other containers.
Of course, they didn’t appeal to my 2 year old. Maybe he’s too young? Maybe he’s being too picky. But whatever. I have 4 Ziplock containers and I made up my own meals. I make them all at once, keep them in the fridge and then I don’t have to worry about making something when both kiddies are going crazy. They’re both under 400 calories and fill me.
This one has 1 ounce of sharp cheddar cheese, 2 ounces of summer sausage, celery, and all natural peanut butter.
This one has some applesauce, mini graham crackers, and turkey & cheese tortilla wraps.
All pretty simple but pretty delicious. Now, I’m scouring Pinterest for some more ideas. I think I might be obsessed!
Good thing they’re healthy/ 😀
