Diapers! Of course, every baby need ’em. Mommies and Daddies hate to change ’em. But, when you’ve got your little baby in cute diapers, it’s not so bad. I had the idea of doing cloth diapers while pregnant. Old school ones that you fold and pin. How crazy was I? I should have done research. There are so many cool options these days. And Piglet kicked his way out of the rubber pants and then got completely soaked. No fun. So all my flat folds are now burp cloths. First I got gDiapers. I was intrigued by their design and color. They are the “new age” cloth diapers that I fell in love with. I got 2 little g pants and 1 pack of disposable inserts and told the hubster we were going to use them on weekends and when we weren’t at work. We used them and realized we needed more g pants, so we got them. And used them as faithfully as we could. Of course, he outgrew his size smalls. I bought some medium ones and some large ones so we’re ready now. I only use them on weekdays though, after I get off work. During the weekends, I found another CD that I liked…..
Ecobumz! They’re so cute and colorful. They are also pretty much like normal diapers except that you wash them and reuse them. No pad like the gDiapers. I had to buy a wet bag for these things so I could keep the smell of little baby poop contained. These worked really well and I kept getting them on sale from babysteals.com and babyhalfoff.com but what I didn’t realize is how quickly he would outgrow the size 1. I thought they would last longer but the indents on his legs and belly would not lie. I sought to find another type of AIO that would last longer which brings me to my last and final discovery.
Fuzzibuns. If I had to do it all over again and choose an AIO, this would be it. The inside is so soft and they come with 2 stuffable pads, instead of 1 like the ecobumz. Also, the outside isn’t shiny like the ecobmuz. I always felt the shiny outside looked a little girly. These are more matte. And with 2 stuffables, they can last all night. I’ve only tried it a couple times and so far, so good. I definitely love these AIO’s the best.
Of course, Piglet goes to a sitter’s house all day and she has 2 kids of her own so I wouldn’t expect her to use cloth diapers. So, he does wear disposables while I am at work. My disposable of choice?
Huggies Pure and Natural. They are so soft, compared to Huggies Little Snugglers. I had Pampers at the hospital and I will never buy them again. They leak and are terrible. Huggies, though, I love. He wore Little Snugglers when he was first born but then I discovered these. Maybe I imagine it, but I really think the organic cotton is more absorbent. They last all night, and Piglet can fill up a diaper with pee, yet, he is always dry and never complains. He also hasn’t gotten diaper rash yet either. Here’s hoping he doesn’t.
