Welcome back to Life Lately! I have a bunch going on that I wanted to share with you so here we are. First up, this was written from the past as I am currently on the East Coast for training. Spooky how the internet works huh.
If you’ve been following me for a while, I have been fortunate to receive many books from Blogging for Books and have gotten many cookbooks. Unfortunately, they are closing their doors but not before I was able to review one more cookbook. I picked Eat A Little Better by Sam Kass. Sam Kass, if you don’t know was the Obama’s chef and worked with Michelle to eat better using the White House Garden. The recipes look amazing and when I get back, we are going to cook some up!
Next up was a sewing win. I have spoken in the past about not liking sewing with knits but you don’t get better if you don’t practice. Since I am not good at it, I don’t buy a lot of knits but when this shirt of mine shrank in the wash, I knew this was a good learning opportunity. So I made a casing around the neck to tighten it up and sewed a piece of elastic in the middle to give it some shape. I think it turned out pretty cute and thankfully black thread on black fabric is forgiving. 😉
Finally, I actually won an internet giveaway! Elizabeth from Our Darling Adventure was giving away gift cards to Green Chef and I was one of the lucky ones. I was super excited to try it out because they have certified gluten free meals. The first three we got were really tasty. The prep takes a while and we’ve cooked with new ingredients (hello beets) but it was worth it. If you want 4 free meals to try, click my link and give it a go! If you do try it, let me know so I can see your meals too!
What about you? What’s good in your woods?
