It’s October and that means that we go to Cheyenne Mountain State Park! Okay, so maybe we just happened to go in the month for 2 years in a row but what can I say? It’s a beautiful park and you can see a lot fall colors while you walk. This time, we had 1 more kid and instead of wearing a toddler on our back, we opted to take our doule stroller.
At first Mac was walking but he started going too slow so we tossed him into the stroller too. We did the same trail as last time because we knew it was (mostly) stroller friendly and not too long so the older kids wouldn’t complain but then they did anyway because that’s what kids do. Oh well.
There is a playground just outside the trailhead so after the hike, we let the kids play for a little bit and then had a snack and headed home. Even though the kids complained for the first part of the hike, they ended up really enjoying themselves and of course, the promise of gummy bears helped. 😛
The back half of the trail has a bunch of huge rocks so that made pushing the stroller a little tricky but Hubs made it work and we survived. The best part is, the babies thought it was hilarious and just laughed and laughed and Hubs pushed and pulled a stroller over a bunch of boulders.
Have you been hiking in Colorado? What are your favorite ones?
