Are you ready for a fun fall craft that you can do with your kids? Boy have I got something for you! We love decorating for fall in our house and so over the weekend, we broke out all our décor. But something was lacking and so I decided to whip together a fun and easy craft that my kids would enjoy. Of course, when it came time to do the craft, only Blueberry was interested but hey, what can you do?
This is a messy craft so before you get started, you will need to stock up on some Huggies® Natural Care® Wipes, if being a mom for nearly 7 years has taught me anything, it’s that having a wipe nearby is always a necessity. Thankfully, I am able to stock up at Sam’s Club and with their Scan and Go Service, I can get in and out and on my way. You can even order them online and get free shipping! After you pick up your wipes, you’ll need to get some festive tissue paper, a couple of glass votives, some liquid glue, and a sponge brush or two. I ripped up a couple sheets of tissue paper ahead of time to make it easier to work with. I also prewashed and dried the votives so that they were clean and ready to work with.
You can make these in just 4 easy steps:
First, lay down a Huggies Natural Care Wipe so that you don’t get glue all over your table.
Working in small sections, paint a good layer of liquid glue onto your glass and then stick the tissue paper onto.
Once I had done the sides, I flipped it over and did the bottom.
When the whole votive is covered, paint an additional layer of glue to seal the tissue paper and allow it to dry completely.
Don’t worry if you get sticky, just grab a wipe from the table and clean up. They are perfect for spills and messes and let me tell you, Blueberry was more that ready for a wipe or two. Liquid glue is tricky to work with but we were able to clean it up right away. And by using one as our working surface, the table didn’t get sticky either!
Once the votives are dry, I let mine go overnight, flip them over and cut or tear any tissue paper that extends past the glass. To illuminate them, I picked up some battery-operated candles and they look great! I like that we can have them look lit up and pretty without the threat of fire. Isn’t technology great?
Now we have a cute centerpiece for our dining room table and I was able to spend some quality time with my favorite girl. What kind of craft would you and your little ones make this fall and how can Huggies Natural Care Wipes help keep the mess under control?
