Halloween is almost here! Can you believe it? I usually make the kids their costumes but I honestly haven’t even touched my sewing machin in a few months. But while we’re not ready in the costume department, we are totally prepped for the trick-or-treaters. Piglet has a lot of hang ups with food, Blueberry has food allergies and trick-or-treating can be tricky. Thankfully, more and more people are doing the teal pumpkin thing and giving away allergen free treats. This year, I teamed up with Oriental Trading to make some goodie bags for our neighbors and Piglet got in on the craft too!
For every goodie bag, we put a Halloween Teddy Bear and 2 different glow sticks. I love these items because it gets really dark around here and having light options is key. The bears are just adorable and the perfect friend to stick in your pocket and keep with you all through November. I asked Piglet to help stuff the bags and he was so excited to get things ready. He loves Halloween and can’t wait to walk around the neighborhood in his costume – he told me he wants to be a ghost. Or a tiger. Maybe a tiger ghost?
Once the baggies were packed, I put them in a basket so on Halloween night, everything will be ready to go. The teal pumpkin will go out on the porch to let other families know our house is a food-safe house to go to.
Are you planning on giving away allergen-free treats this year? Check out all fun, candy free alternatives and let me know what your favorite is!
