One of my favorite things about July is that it is my birthday month! Okay, so it’s the number one reason. Another thing I really like is that Hubs and I are very much like Lily and Marshall from How I Met Your Mother. He loves to celebrate birthdays and who am I to stop his joy? Since I am getting older, the time for toys and games is over and I am all about getting things for my house. One of my favorite stores is Uncommon Goods. I have so many of their items and so this year, I made a gift guide for anyone (my Hubs) to use for the thirty-somethings in their life.
Since becoming homeowners, I love to buy cool stuff for it. We’ve been working on the front garden and checking out their garden selections was fun. All the planters are really cute but what I really want is the succulent living wall planter. I know succulents have been “in” for a while now and I have only loved them from afar. I think this would look awesome in our living room. One third of the collection at Uncommon Goods is made from recycled material and this planter is one of the many ecofriendly items available. I love that each one is unique.
An unexpected problem I have with our house is that doors are forever being slammed by tiny humans. I know teenagers slam doors but little kids too? Man. My office door is a slam-favorite and so when I saw this llama doorstop, I knew I had to put it on here. It is a part of their decorative accents collection and it is so cute. I love llamas. I have no idea why but they are so cute. Like if a giraffe made a baby with a sheep. Also from their collection are these sweet state pillows. We already have one from Kentucky and Hawaii so this Colorado one is just begging to come home.
For the last item on my wish list, I added something that would help complete a room. We have a mudroom that stores our shoes and coats but also the cat litter. You also go through it to get to the garage so I feel like it needs a doormat. I have been searching for a good one and finally found this adorable cat one. It is perfect because as a house with 4 cats, it makes sense but it also will help catch litter and dirt as we go in and out of the house. They also have a llama doormat so that made the list too. You can never have too many llamas right?
If you are a fellow July birthday person, I encourage you to check out Uncommon Goods. Their handcrafted gifts are created in harmony with the environment without harm to animals or people. And as someone who constantly window shops the website, this month is perfect (purrfect?) month to pick up a few items from my list. What is something you are hoping to get for your next birthday?
