Are you like me and love pineapples? They’re so tasty and perfect for summer. For our anniversary, we got some mule mugs and I just knew it was time to recreate a drink I had in Hawaii. Instead of a traditional Moscow Mule, this is a recipe for a Hawaiian Mule. So grab some ginger beer, pineapple vodka, and some aloha spirit.
First, you want crushed ice. Then, using a 1 ounce jigger, measure out your drink. My mugs are quite large so I did 2 ounces of vodka per 3 ounces of ginger beer. It made for a smooth drink without being overpowering. I hate when drinks are unbalanced. In Hawaii, we had this amazing pineapple vodka that was made in Maui using pineapples but alas, I am unable to find it here. I’ve added it the list “why we need to go back to Hawaii.” Since this is the mainland, I stuck with Smirnoff. It’s not bad. The pineapple taste isn’t overly sweet so it was good. I still drank 2.
Hawaiian Mule, serves 1
- 1 mule mug
- crushed ice
- 2 ounces pineapple vodka
- 3 ounces ginger beer
1. Fill mug half full of crushed ice.
2. Pour 2 ounces of pineapple vodka.
3. Top with ginger beer and enjoy!
This is my new favorite summer drink. What’s yours?
