It’s that time of year again, summer vacation. If you’re like me and planning a big vacation, the thought of traveling across the country with bored kids is terrifying. Last summer, I shared our airplane busy boxes which were a hit during our PCS, this summer, I have partnered up with Oriental Trading for some great summer activities. We are going to be taking a trip to Florida to see my big brother get married and meet up with the world’s most famous mouse so I picked out some tropical tools to keep my little hooligans entertained on our flights.
When packing for a flight, space is important. Mostly the lack of space. Airplane space is tight and having too heavy of a carry-on means that my kids won’t carry their bags and then I have to carry them. Along with mine. No Bueno. So I picked out some great activities that are also compact.
Since everyone needs a stuffed animal, I got these slumber party girls. I am a firm believer in creating gender-neutral toys so this 4 pack is perfect for all 4 of my kiddos. I also got some finger puppets because Piglet LOVES them. The bendable fairies were too cute too pass up. I also got these cool sea life magic color scratchers. When I showed the kids how they worked, they were so excited. I had to hide the rest so that they can actually enjoy them on the plane.
I also got these cool journals that you can decorate. I am super obsessed with my planner and every week when I decorate it, they beg to play with mine. These journals have stickers to decorate the cover or the pages. I am so excited to see what they make. Since they are learning to write, it’ll be fun to see what they spell out.
And of course, when all else fails – lollipops win. Really any candy really. It’s always nice to have a little treat. I am so excited for our Florida trip. We haven’t been here since before we moved to Hawaii so I am excited to go back. I miss the tropical life. Colorado is cool but there ain’t no palm trees here, if you know what I mean.
Are you planning any trips this summer? What are some of your ways to keep your kids happy while traveling?
