Are you like me and love to sleep? Are you like most people who have trouble getting quality sleep? From technology to children, we are constantly having our attention pulled everywhere and falling asleep is sometimes hard. By setting up a nightly routine, you can improve your sleep and the best part is, you can do it all today!
Plan Your Space
Not only do I have issues falling asleep, I also can be guilty of hitting the alarm and not getting out of bed. To limit your phone scrolling and encourage you to get out of bed, put your phone on the other side of the room. Don’t bring your tablet in your room. Don’t have a tv in your room. Our room is just for sleeping. A lot of people like to watch tv before bed but we decided a long time ago that our room would be as technology free as possible.
Before you get into bed, do some stretches. Stretching out your back, neck, and legs can relax your body so that you are more easily able to fall asleep. We do stretches before bed and I definitely notice the days that I let that slip. I also find that I wake up more relaxed and rejuvenated when I stretch before bed. To get a jump start on your morning, repeat your stretching routine before starting your day!
Take A Bath
Our bathroom has a huge soaking tub and there is nothing more relaxing that a bubble bath. Use calming scents like lavender to help you distress and relax. Warm water soothes sore muscle and since I listen to a podcast while I soak, I get a chance to stretch my mind before heading to bed.
Have a Cup
Speaking of lavender, Bigelow Benefits Chamomile and Lavender Herbal Tea is the best tea to drink at night. After we do our stretches, I like to enjoy a cup while reading a book. It is caffeine and gluten free so it won’t keep you up at night. Incorporating this tea into my daily routine has really helped promote a healthy and balanced life. We got our tea from Amazon and it shipped super fast!
Bigelow Benefits Teas are designed to support clean eating and a healthy lifestyle. Which one of the seven new teas will you try in your routine?
