Are you having company over this weekend for some football? Or maybe you just need some new decoration in your house. How about you make a fun and easy wreath? Today, I’m sharing a tutorial for making twin wreaths, one for the front door and one for the water closet. Having some decorating on the bathroom door means it’ll be easier for your guests to find the bathroom. No one wants to interrupt the festivities by asking where the potty is, aimiright?
To make these you need 2 wire wreaths, ribbon, and pinking sheers. Pinking sheers are important because you don’t want your ribbon to fray. I thought I would need a lot more ribbon than I actually needed, you only will need 2 10 yard spools of each color you want. Before you start making your wreath, make sure it’s the ride side up. You want the raised part to be the front so it’s raised off the door.
Tie your ribbon in a knot along the wreath. Since I’m using 2 colors, I alternated them to create a pattern. The larger wreath is going on the front door so I also got a chalkboard sign to say “Welcome.” Helpful hint, these aren’t real chalkboards and my chalk didn’t work. Luckily I have some paint pens on hand. Another tip, trace whatever you want to say in pencil so if you make a mistake, it’s not permanent. Attach the sign by threading it onto one of the pieces of ribbon before you knot it.
To hang it, you can use an over the door hook or one of the hooks with a sticky back – for those, spread the ribbon apart a little bit to attach the hook with.
Now that you’ve got your welcome wreath and water closet wreath, it’s time to stock up. Target has everything you need. From food to paper plates to toilet paper, it’s your one-stop shop. My favorite is Quilted Northern Ultra Soft & Strong® Mega Rolls, I’ve talked about it before and I’ll keep doing it. It’s literally my favorite toilet paper. Since these rolls are a fuller roll, there’s less changing so you can change the roll less often during the big game. To find more Quilted Northern inspiration, check out the social hub here.
In our water closet, I have a cool organization rack (also found at Target) and I keep a couple Mega Rolls inside. Of course, since they’re so big, they last quite a while. And even better, they’re on Cartwheel for 10% off!
