Did you have a schedule free holiday? I did. My parents and little brother were here for 2 weeks and Hubs had either half days or days. Adding to that, school was on break so routine was out the window. But alas, life cannot continue in chaos and I am having to get back into the routine of things. This month I will be focusing on 2 things: establishing a workout routine and cleaning up my diet. I thought I would share the ways I am getting on track in case you too are struggling to get a grip on 2017.
The Workout Routine
On Black Friday, I got the Happy Planner Workout Planner and so far, I love it. It’s small enough to fit into my purse so I can take it to the gym or on the go but there’s enough room to track all my foods, my workouts, and even my water intake. And of course, it’s an excuse to get more planner stickers. 😉 I have 3 days a week where my sitter comes so I can go to the gym uninterrupted so I will be focusing on cardio and weight lifting routine. I’m not very good at weight lifting but I am going to be focusing on my arms so this workout seems like one I can do. I know how to lift weights but being in the gym can be intimidating so sticking to a few machines and weights now will boost my confidence. I also plan to do cardio on the days my sitter is here and at least 1 of the weekend days. For January, 4 days of exercise seems manageable since I’m 2 months postpartum.
Cleaning Up My Diet
Did you eat a ton of junk of the holidays? Is waking up early again getting to you? I’ve been enjoying these exclusive Gourmesso pods to help with the 6 am wakeups. Who evented early school hours? Fire them from a canon. I also have been spending more time in the produce section. I usually eat a ton of salads for lunch but with all the company and Hubs being home, we ate out or ate none salad things. I’m really missing being able to go Farmer’s Markets year round but luckily the produce selection at the stores isn’t terrible so more salads, more better. Or something. I also got Hubs an InstantPot for Christmas so I am looking forward to making good use of that to clean up my holiday eating ways.
Anyway, I’ve really excited about this year. We’re officially done having kids so I feel like I can really focus on getting to the me I am want be rather than being in a holding pattern for the next baby. How have you been working to get or stay on track this January?
