I love decorating for the holidays. The tree is usually the main event but I really think it’s the little touches that can make the whole thing feel special. I like to combine handmade treasures with things from our travels. Growing up as an Army brat and now, still being in the Army, it’s safe to say, I have a lot of different tastes for my decorations. I thought I would share some with you today.
Some of my favorite ornaments are from Hawaii and Germany. They are just so different from each other and I like how they look together. I spent 2 years growing up in Germany and my parents have vacationed or lived there off and on since I graduated college so we both have a lot of German decorations, they always remind me of my childhood. I would also be lying if I said I didn’t miss Hawaii. It’s currently 10 degrees outside so I am really missing that Aloha today.
I also really like handmade felt decorations at Christmas, I made this felt advent calendar a few years ago and I still love it. The kids also are at a great age. They’re getting pumped about hanging up each day. I also love Christmas trees in all shapes and sizes, from my tiny glass one to this live tree from ProFlowers, every room in my house has at least 1 tree in it.
I have another tree in my office and this mini marquee sign. I’m obsessed with it. I’ve been changing up the saying every week! I got it on Black Friday for like a million percent off and I’m so happy. I also have a tsum tsum advent calendar because, those little things are addictive.
What little touches do you have a home to make your Christmas feel special?
