Well, 2016 is coming to an end. It’s safe to say that we’re all ready for this year to be done. Last year, I did a recap of my favorite posts and so I thought I would continue the tradition this year. Looking back, I got a great sense of melancholy since for half the year, we were in Hawaii and now we’re not. I admit, I was tired of living there but since we left, I miss it every day. Those islands change you, and if you’ve ever met anyone who hated it there – they didn’t do it right.
Anyway…onto the recap!
In January, we headed back to the Dole Plantation and did the maze. It was a great and muddy time, fun for all. In February, after months and months of symptoms, I learned that I had celiac disease and gave up normal doughnuts forever. To say it’s been an adjustment is an understatement. But the first quarter wasn’t all bad, in March, I announced that we were expecting our fourth baby!
In April, we got a roomba. Sounds lame but it’s seriously a game changer. If you don’t have one – get one. In May, I published my post repinned tutorial, it’s a quick and easy way to make PJ pants. And in June, thanks to our amazing sitter, we took a weekend trip to Kau’ai and knocked out our final island hop.
In July, I embraced some gluten free products and made a delicious pretzel crusted, cheddar stuffed chicken. You won’t even miss the gluten. In August, we became first-time homeowners and started to settle into our life in Colorado. And in September, I joined a huge link up and made some yummy applesauce muffins. If you need an easy breakfast recipe, try these.
In October, we welcomed Nugget and made our family complete. It was one of the best months. In November, I shared a tutorial for a sugar foot scrub, it was a sponsored post and got a lot of page views due an ad the company I work with took out on my behalf. And finally, in December, I shared my favorite gluten free recipe – fried shrimp. My husband came up with it and I crave it every day.
So that was my year, overall it wasn’t bad. I still miss Hawaii and I am not so sure about Colorado yet but I’m working on it. Next year, I’ll be focussing on our bucket list among other things, but that’s a post for another day. How was your year? Was it everything you wanted?
