One of the things on our Bucket List is to visit the Garden of the Gods. We took a trip there and it was obvious that we will have to come back many more times. There are trails everywhere! We didn’t have the good jogging stroller so we stuck to the paved trail around the center of the park but there are tons of other things to do. People were horseback riding, mountain biking, and running. It was pretty cool. There’s also a visitor center but we didn’t go to it because it is on the opposite side of the road of the park.
The park is gorgeous. When we found out we were moving to Colorado, I was worried that it would be “ugly.” I mean, Hawaii is beautiful, how do you compare anything to it? While we don’t have the tropical flowers here or the ocean, we do have some pretty sweet rocks. The park is also 100% free. Free parking, no admission fees, FREE! The land was donated to the city with the understanding that it would always be free and I really appreciate that. Hawaii has some amazing parks that are free so I was worried we would suddenly be hit with fees for everything.
Once we find a new baby sitter and I’m not pregnant, we are definitely going to go back without the kids and do some of the unpaved trails. While many of the trails could be done with the kids, we’d just have to go really, really slow. And that is just annoying. I mean, my kids are cool but walking fast is not something they’re good at. Unless we want them to go slow, then they run. Or one runs and one crawls. Kids man. smh
Have you ever been to the Garden of the Gods? What’s your favorite thing to do there?
