If you remember, we had to put my girl Colby down before we left Hawaii. Going from a house with 3 cats to a house with 2 makes things feel empty. You may not think that 1 cat could make such a difference but it does. I always knew we would get another cat, maybe 2, but I didn’t know when that would happen. I wasn’t ready to get another cat. Hubs was though and one day after making a joke about seeing a box on the side of the road and wishing it said “free kittens,” he started looking up kittens and on a Sunday afternoon, we went and adopted 2 little girls.
Hubs’ intention was to get 1 kitten but the boys are older and I didn’t want them to go and then leave the new cat all alone, so we got 2. While we were looking at the kittens, there was what seemed to be a 15 year old girl looking at all of them. She kept grabbing them and cuddling them and blocking me and my kids. Like, go away girl. She eventually left with a kitten and her friend was like “omg, your mom is gonna FREAK!” You’re damn right girlie, don’t bring home a pet without asking. And now you know I’m old. 😛
So anyway, meet the girls! The tabby is named Donna (Hubs wanted a boy to name Dennis, but there were no boys. The fact that Donna Noble is the most important woman in the whole wide universe is just an added bonus). The tortie is named Cheyenne. It took a lot longer to pick her name. All the names Hubs liked were names of my friends and I thought that was weird. We decided to name her for the mountain here, and it’s perfect because she is really shy. Donna is out and about and messing with the boys already, perfect if you know Donna Noble’s character.
So, there you have it. Four cats, soon to be 4 kids. Safe to say, we’ve got a full house.
