Right before we left Hawaii, I won tickets to the Hawaii State Farm Fair at Kualoa Ranch. We previously went to Kualoa Ranch to tour their movie sets and beach but the State Farm Fair was set up in the parking lot. Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect because I’ve never been to a farm fair but it was nice. A mix of county fair and farm animals. The kids got to ride some rides and we got to see some award-winning livestock.
Inside the Keiki Tent there was some plants growing in tires, which I thought was a pretty cool way to make a planter. We also saw some chickens and chicks at various stages of development. There was even 1 that was a few hours old and still sticky!
The favorite part of the day was the rides. Blueberry loved the swing and the slide. She used to hate bouncy castles but has recently come around which is really nice because Piglet LOVES them and malls usually have bounce house places, which I love to go to when the weather is bad so now she likes them, it’ll be more fun for everyone.
After a quick stop for some water, we headed into the farm animal tent to look at the animals. I love farm animals. I think they’re so cool. I often think that having a few would be cool but I know they’re a lot of work so I don’t see getting one in the foreseeable future.
We got 1 last snack and rolled on home. The day we went to the fair was actually a scheduled power outage that housing didn’t tell us about so having these tickets were a real lifesaver. Everyone had fun and both boys passed out on the drive. I call that a win!
Do you like state fairs or farm animals? What’s your favorite?
