Babies are messy. Kids are messy. Adults are messy but at least as adults we can take care of ourselves and keep clean on our own. As the mother of soon to be 4 children, over the past 5.5 years I have developed what one would call an intimate relationship with baby wipes. But baby wipes aren’t all created equal and I have gone through my share of hits and misses. Baby wipes need to be effective, efficient, and not loaded with chemicals. WaterWipes at Target are by far the best solution to my chemical free baby wipe problem. With only 2 ingredients, 99.9% pure Irish water and 0.1% grapefruit seed extract, these are a win for us.
Now, I know what you’re thinking. These are baby wipes, they’re for baby bums. Not so my friend. Check out my five favorite ways to use WaterWipes.
1. Meal Time Clean Up
When your baby or toddler is learning to self-feed, messes are a given. Mac is constantly missing his mouth, purposely throwing food on the floor, shaking his head as we try to feed him baby purees. It’s a mess. A quick wipe down with a WaterWipe and he will be ready for playtime after a meal, no sticky hands and face here!
2. Cleaning the Pacifier
All kids love gravity. It’s pretty much their favorite lesson. Throw item, laugh at parent as they pick it up, throw item again. All these tiny scientists are amazing and while I’m not a germaphobe mom, there are places I don’t want inside my kid’s mouth so when the pacifier gets tossed to the ground, it gets a quick wash with a WaterWipe.
3. Quick Hand Washes
My older kids are potty trained. They are great at using public potties but using the sinks and hand blowdryers freaks them out. I guess it’s too loud? Or they’re too short and can’t reach the sink very well and I really don’t want to pick them up to lean on the wet, dirty counter so giving each kid a WaterWipe to wash their hands means clean hands without a fight.
4. Grocery Carts
Yes, a lot of stores have wipes to wipe the cart down but then the handle is sticky from the cleaning chemicals and if your toddler is anything like mine, they will want to chew on pieces of the cart. I like to use a WaterWipe to clean off the cart pieces because I don’t have to worry about my son licking something he shouldn’t and my hands don’t get coated in cleaning supplies as I’m trying to grocery shop.
5. Wiping Down Restaurant Tables
Just like the grocery cart, my son tends to get his mouth close to restaurant tables. Since he is still learning to self-feed (may possibly throw a plate or 2), we use a WaterWipe to wipe down where his food will go before giving him his meal. We do this before his meal and after for clean up. Wipe the baby down, wipe the table down with 1 fell swoop. I’m sure the waiters appreciate the quick clean up too.
