New Year, New Blog! Okay, sort of. Over the Christmas weekend, I moved from Blogger to WordPress. Yes, no more Google servers for me. It had a couple hiccups and I am still personalizing everything but I think that it’s looking pretty good. I got my design from Pish and Posh Studios and I love it. I stuck with the gold look. After all, I just designed my work space with a touch of gold glitter too.
After searching all over the place, I finally found a desk I liked at Target. It has a cool charging station attached and has enough room to double as a sewing table. I also took the time to pick up some things to help organize my blog. I got a couple things and I thought I would share my strategies for my blog posts next year because maybe they’ll help you too.
I got a small calendar and a small notebook for my purse. You never know when you’ll get an idea! I prefer to physically write down my ideas and I like being able to see the month days laid out when I need them for scheduling.
Speaking of scheduling, I got a desktop calendar where I will be planning out my posts. I know some WordPress users use CoSchedule and I may use that in time but for now, planning with a good old fashioned number 2 pencil and calendar is good for moving around ideas. I used to just print off a calendar sheet from the internet but I liked this desktop one. It’s sturdier. I also picked up a great pink notebook to jot down to-dos, ideas, whatever.
I have a couple goals for 2016 and this little blog of mine.
I also started doing sponsored posts last year. Since then, I’ve made a modest amount of money. I used it to help move to WordPress. I hope the sponsored posts don’t annoy you because I only pick ideas that I would normally blog about anyway.
I also plan on sharing more tutorials. Lately, I’ve been focusing on recipes but I want to get back to crafting and sewing. In fact, I already have a sewing tutorial ready for next week!
Do you have any goals for your blog?
