Pepper Steak – A Recipe

So, we watch a lot of cooking shows and one thing that they love to talk about is pepper steak. For some reason, I thought it was like pepper the spice and that was never appealing to me. I finally saw one of these celebrity chefs cook pepper steak and I was like “yeah, I could get down on that.”

And so we did.

If there’s one thing that cooking shows have taught me, it’s to get everything ready before you even start cooking. Mise en place if you will.

First of all, gather your supplies. You will need:

Green bell pepper
Yellow onion
1/5-1 cups Soy sauce
2-3 garlic cloves
1/4 cup flour
1 flank steak

Cut the steak up and put it into a plastic bag with the flour, shake it and then set it aside while you cut up your pepper and yellow onion. Mince your garlic and put it in a different bowl.

Add the garlic to the pan with some sesame oil and let it heat up. Once hot, brown the steak. Once the steak is browned, take it out of the pan and saute the vegetables.

Add the steak back to the pan and the cover with soy sauce. Let is simmer until the sauce thickens. Serve it over rice. And enjoy!

Here’s the recipe broken down without the pictures in the way.

You Need:

Green bell pepper
Yellow onion
1/2-1 cups Soy sauce
2-3 garlic cloves
1/4 cup flour
1 flank steak

Here’s what you do:

1. Prepare your steak: cut into strips and place into a plastic bag with the flour. Cut your pepper and onion into strips. Mince your garlic cloves.

2. Heat garlic with sesame oil for 2-3 minutes.

3. Brown your steak and remove from the pan.

4. Put your vegetables into the pan and saute.

5. Add the steak back to the pan and cover with soy sauce. Simmer until the sauce thickens.

6. Serve over rice.

And now I need your help. Do you prefer the recipe to shown with the pictures and then again at the end all grouped together or do you just like the recipe steps by the pictures? Let me know!
