For nearly 5 years (on Friday, it will be exactly 5 years), I have been carrying a diaper bag. Yes, those tiny little humans that I love so much have dictated that I carry a huge bag filled with tiny clothes, pacifiers, toys, diapers. You name it, I have at one point carried it.
Since I carry a diaper bag all the time, I like to buy large totes that I like. Diaper bags are always so babyish and until my baby starts carrying it, I’ll stick to what I like. But those totes have 1 huge problem. All my stuff gets lost in them! Well, no more because I have the solution.
First, gather all you need for your mini-purse. I put my Advil Tablet Vial, Emergen-C Immune+ Chewables, and Infant’s Advil in it that way I can keep all my medications in one controlled place. The bigger kids aren’t allowed to touch this bag so I can keep positive control on all my items.
I keep Advil Tablets on hand because nothing’s stronger, longer lasting or better on your tough aches and pains than Advil, and nothing works on more pains than Advil (among OTC pain relievers) and motherhood makes you sore sometimes, sad but true. Emergen-C Immune+ Chewables because I need the extra immune support, little kids are constantly sneezing or coughing on you. They have no boundaries. And lastly, the Infant’s Advil is key since my youngest is currently cutting his first 2 teeth and Advil quickly soothes teething pain and fever. I get my stock from Walmart in the Health and Beauty section.
Once you have all you need for your mini-purse, you need a mini-purse. A cosmetics bag works perfectly. My current diaper tote has a lobster claw lanyard inside the bag so I chose a cosmetics bag with a loop so I can hook it to the claw inside the bag. Now, all I have to do is find the lanyard, and I’ve found the bag.
Along with my mini-purse, I also store my wallet, baby diapers, bottles, teething toys, juice boxes, ChapStick, random toys for the older kids. It’s like a treasure hunt clearing it out every Friday night. There’s always just one doll shoe. Where’s the other? Who knows.
So, now you know my little trick to keeping all my essentials within arms reach. What is going to help you be healthy for every part of life this year?
