Another Kid’s Clothes Week is done! I have to say, this one creeped up on me and I had no time to plan. Can you actually believe tomorrow is Halloween? I cannot. This month flew by! Since I didn’t have time to plan. I sewed with fabric I already had on hand and mostly made pants.
Piglet is officially out of the toddler section and so he needs pj pants. I got this hippo fabric forever ago and once Piglet saw it, he had to have it.
Blueberry, not to be outdone also wanted pants. I had this elephant fleece so I decided it was hers. Rather than make regular pants, I added a ruffle to the bottom, which she declared as “fancy.”
A few Christmas’ ago, my dad got me this Doctor Who shirt. It never really fit but I knew I wanted to do something with it for the kids. I used one of Mac’s rompers as a guide and made an upcycled outfit. These things rarely work for me so I was so pleased that I was able to draft a pattern and the clothes actually fit in the end!
I also had some linen and this amazing Hawaiian themed fabric and I was going to make a Hawaiian shirt for Piglet but I didn’t have enough fabric so I used it as the pockets for these easy shorts. Piglet loves pockets so I hope he likes the shorts.
Finally, I got to making Halloween costumes. Piglet is going to be Captain America but the other 2 needed their costumes made. After much deliberation, we decided to make Mac a gumball machine. Technically I didn’t sew all the components of their costumes but I did make them so I think that counts.
Blueberry wanted to be Belle. She’s seen Beauty and the Beast approximately 0.77 times but she does have the Little People Belle Princess doll so maybe that’s why she loves her? Whatever. I used A LOT of tulle and whipped up something that she loves. And I love it too.
Check back next week for a recap of Halloween to see the costumes in action!
Did you sew anything? I’d love to see it.
