In our house, we love comic books and other “nerdy” things. I mean, we went to a comic convention a few weeks ago. One doesn’t do that if they are only slightly a fan. Anyway, we saw the previous MARVEL’s The Avengers movie at our house in Kentucky because I was very pregnant and wouldn’t you know it, same thing with MARVEL’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron so we didn’t get to go to the theater but that’s okay because thanks to Walmart, we were able to have a Halloween watch party complete with costumes!
First I picked up everything I needed. Piglet is going to be Captain America so I headed to the Halloween Shop at Walmart to get his costume. I was so pleased to see how affordable it was and then I headed to the movies section, found the MARVEL’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron display and picked up our Blu-Ray. For the Halloween Treat Bag, I was able to get all the supplies in the craft and sewing section. It was a total one-stop-shop win!
Everyone knows Captain America’s shield is important to him and the whole point of trick or treating is candy so I thought why not combine the 2 into a cute craft. Since it’s “no sew,” Piglet was able to help with the gluing too.
Check out the detailed steps below!
Here’s what you need:
A red treat bag
Step One: measure out your white felt on the bag. You want to make your first circle as large as you can. I used a bowl to make an outline and then I cut out it out.
Step Two: Measure out your blue felt and using a slightly smaller bowl, trace a circle and cut it out.
Step Three: Trace a star on your white and cut it out. As you can see, my star didn’t start out perfect. It’s okay, you can glue that side down so no one sees your mistakes. 😉
Step Four: Once you have the circles and star, it’s time to assemble! Using the fabric glue, I glued the star down to the blue and then the blue to the white. Finally, I glued the entire thing to the bag and let it dry overnight.
The next day, it was movie time! We popped some popcorn and Piglet finally tried on his costume. He absolutely loved in. In fact, he’s worn it every day since we took it home. Blueberry wanted to try with it too and so she wore it for a little bit too.
How adorable? I mean really.
We spent all Sunday afternoon watching MARVEL’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron. It was just as good as the first, if not better! I cannot wait for the next installment.
Which MARVEL’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron character are you planning on being this year? I’d love to hear who you like the most!
