On Friday, I was searching twitter for something to do over the weekend. We had tentative plans for a hike but then I saw that Stan Lee was in town. Seemed a little odd but wouldn’t you know it? Waikiki was having it’s first ComicCon. I knew we had to go.
First of all, getting to the convention center was crazy. We parked in the mall but couldn’t figure out what staircase to get down to get back to the ground level. Finally, we made our way into the center. I didn’t think many people would be dressed up but there were literally 50 Deadpools in the lobby.
Inside was overwhelming. Booths everywhere. People in costumes everywhere. We decided not to take the stroller so Hubs wore Mac while I herded the other two cats. They didn’t prefer all the crowds but we were there to shop. Hubs spotted these amazing paintings and we bought 3!
Blueberry was attracted to the Kawaii booth. Because of course. This is where she picked her ComicCon treat. A Minnie Mouse key chain. I wanted to get the Stitch but no dice. Piglet picked a 4 pack of die-cast Cars characters.
We went upstairs for a break from the noise and to see the panel signs. We didn’t actually go into any of them though. I’m pretty sure Stan was only on Friday. Afterwards, we stopped at Teddy’s for burgers and fries. It was a pretty great Saturday.
And our paintings look great in our Doctor Who bathroom. Not sure the artist intended for them to be bathroom art but that’s where they live now. 😛
Have you ever been to a ComicCon?
