When we moved into this house (a year ago!) I realized that I never really decorated Blueberry’s room. It was cobbled together themes, owls and princesses. It honestly annoyed me. Blueberry doesn’t really care about owls so I decided to stick with princesses.
On her shelf is Grimm’s Fairy Tales* and Hans Christian Anderson: Classic Fairy Tales*, the pretty ones from Barnes and Noble, a Barbie that my Grandma made for me when I was little and the princess peg people I made a million years ago. She also has a koa wood angel. It’s so precious. I love koa wood crafts, thank you swap meet!
Off to the side, she has all her stuffed animals. There’s a lot. We’re a stuffie family. On her dresser is a tea set that my mom gave me. I think it was my grandma’s? I’m not sure, I just know it’s old and it’s pretty. My mom also cross-stiched the flowers above her dresser. She also has her fairy garland on the window still, which I still love. Peg people crafts are the best.
On the other side is most of her toys. She has several different doll houses and princess castles. I mean, a girl can’t have too many can she? The Disney Princess Little People* house is my favorite. My big brother got it for her birthday last year and she still loves it.
The wooden doll house was mine. Pretty much Blueberry has a ton of hand-me-downs. My parents made sure to save a lot of our toys and so I’m glad I get to pass them down. She has a couple of my Barbies too. Unfortunately, some have been sacrificed to the dog though. I guess Barbie feet taste good?
Finally, I made her a Disney Princess silhouette wall. I’ve seen it on Pinterest and I decided that the time was now! I used gold card stock and green scrapbook paper as the background. I like princesses and all but too much pink is overwhelming. That’s why she’s got green and purple as her theme. I got this cute star lamp*, it’s similar to the one at IKEA but I got it off line because there’s no IKEA on this island. 🙁
Overall, I am pleased with how it turned out. It’s princess-y without being too over the top. What is your favorite room to decorate?
