Earlier this week, we had a whirlwind of doctor appointments. I had my 20 week ultrasound at Tripler early in the morning and then Piglet had his 4 year check up and immunizations at Schofield. We basically saw half the island and all the Army clinics in one morning. Super fun.
I always like baby appointments when there’s an ultrasound involved. It’s nice to see the tiny human growing inside of you. Macadamia Nut (his online alias btw) is growing perfectly. The tech was super nice and told us everything she was looking at or looking for. In the past, the tech’s haven’t always told us what they were doing so it was nice to know why she was measuring small black holes (kidneys) and if everything is working right. This little dude is usually very active. I feel him move quite often and it’s much sooner than with the other 2. It’s like he’s saying “don’t worry, we’re doing fine.” He even ended the ultrasound with a thumbs up. That’s my boy.
Piglet is also doing well. He actually stood still and let us measure his height and weight which is nice because he usually get anxious as the doctor’s office but then again, who doesn’t? He’s in the 80th percentile for height and 75th percentile for weight. He almost was a 1:1 pound:inch. It’s crazy. He’s already so tall, he’s half of my height! He took him immunizations like a champ. He needed 3 and after the first one, he proclaimed “I’m all done, I’m all better.” Too funny but he had to get the other pokes. The nurse was super nice and understanding – unlike his PCM who seems to hate children. I really need to switch her because she is just awful.
Anywho, winter break is (finally) over next Tuesday and my routine-loving son will be back at school. He likes being home but I think he’s been home far too long for his liking.
