In Hawaii, a must have spot to visit is the Polynesian Cultural Center. It’s a cross between an amusement park (minus the rides) and a museum. And it’s pretty cool. When you first walk in, there’s a little shop section and the biggest banquet hall I’d ever seen.
Once you enter the actual center, there’s a section for a bunch of the islands in Polynesia. We visited Samoa, Tonga, Hawaii, and Fiji. We missed a couple of them but that’s okay, we can always go back. We were mostly enjoying walking around, seeing what was around.
One of the shops had a make your own bracelet section so each kid strung up some colored macadamia nut shells and made a bracelet. Blueberry immediately took both bracelets because she’s just so fancy.
We also had a couple meltdowns. Piglet was hot and we couldn’t find apple juice for a while so he was upset. We cooled down in the IMAX theater and the gift shop outside of it had the good stuff. Piglet got his juice and we were all happy.
There’s also a boat you can float on that takes a tour around the park, we waited and waited for it. First we kept missing it, then there was a floating parade so we had to wait. By the time we got on the boat, Blueberry was in the ergo and Piglet was freaking out he was so excited. Who knew a canoe could make a kid so happy?
After the tour, we went to the banquet hall and ate a luau-themed dinner. Piglet ate grapes because he’s just that picky but whatever. I had kalua pork and it was so. good. I seriously need to figure out how to make it because I will miss it when we move. Overall, it was a fun day. A long day but a fun one. If you want an island experience, check this place out!
