One day while I was doing important work on Pinterest, I came across this pin for a monster craft. I was looking for something Halloween-y to do with the kids and this seemed like a good one. Both the kids like monsters, the both like crafts, why not?
Well, I changed up her craft a little. First, her monsters were taped or glued and permanent. I wanted something that would occupy the kids for more than 1 afternoon so I went to Walmart and got some self-laminating sheets and some velcro dots. Then, I printed out the monsters. I was (apparently) running out of ink so the blue monster game out stripped but that’s okay, he’s a monster. I stuck some velcro on where the eyes, mouth, horns, and hands should go and then velcroed the back of each accessory.
Piglet was at school so Blueberry (who is waging a war on clothes) got to try it out.
The result? Amazing. She played for nearly 20 minutes – pretty good for a nearly 2 year old! We also worked on body parts while we played. “Where do the eyes go? Show me a mouth.” etc. Pretty sweet. She liked it enough to ask to play with it again the next day. I call that a win in my book.
Do you have any Halloween crafts you’re doing with your little ones this year?
