I have a confession. I am not one of you. I don’t frequent Target. I don’t have a Red Card. I don’t really like coffee. I hate going into any Starbucks.
And I really, really hate the Pumpkin Spice Latte craze.
I don’t get it. I will never get it. I don’t understand how 17 year old high school seniors get so, like totally, pumped up for some PSL! And speaking of PSL, that just sounds dirty.
I like fall, I really do. The colors, the smell of the heater when you turn it on for the first time, Thanksgiving.
I do not understand the pumpkin-ness of it all. Yes, we get pumpkins and Halloween and we cut them into cute faces. I harvest the seeds and bake up those. They’re the best part. If my family is visiting us for Thanksgiving, I freeze the insides so my mom can make a pie I won’t eat because I don’t like pie. If not, I toss it out. No pumpkin muffins or bars in this house.
I know you all are about to go ape-shit for Autumn and boots and scarves and pumpkin spiced lattes and that’s cool and all. But me? I’ll stick to ordering my hot chocolate on the rare occasion I enter a Starbucks.
Because clearly, I have the taste-buds of a 5 year old. 😉
