So, we got this table for $50 at an antique store. It used to be just stained wood with a marble tabletop but I didn’t like it. I wanted a statement piece for our living room, and so I redid it. I painted it yellow and it looked pretty good. See?
But tragedy struck when the movers packed our house in Kentucky. They BROKE THE MARBLE. Before it was even on a truck, the table was ruined. We’re still waiting on our claim paperwork to go through so for a long time, the table sat in our garage, doing not much of anything.
When we moved here, Hubs accidentally broke the leg on my bedside table. For nearly a year, it was just barely balancing. I had no idea it was this close to falling over. But it was still broken and about a month ago, I decided to fix this little table up to use.
First, to get a new top, I went to Lowe’s. All they had was wooden circles and it was about an inch too small but I got it anyway and decided the little “lip” would be okay. I originally wanted to paint it a charcoal gray but the paint counter always freaks me out and there wasn’t any in a premade form. So I got this gorgeous blue color and I love it.
