Well, another kid’s clothes week has come and gone. I’m glad to say that I did it all! Even though the last day was Super Bowl Sunday and I spent it at Alex’s house. But I came home and made a skirt. Yay!
This time around, I got bold and sewed actual buttonholes! 4 actually. I think because I have a new machine with easy to understand instructions, I got those bad boys on lock. Now, I just need to figure out how to sew on buttons. Maybe next time.
This time, I challenged myself to use fabric I already had on hand. The only thing I needed to buy was navy thread and elastic! Goal met.
first time sewing buttonholes!
First up, the buttonhole dress. It was easy to sew and I love how great it turned out. It’s still a little big but that’s okay, she’s still growing.
Next, I embellished a plain white tee from Walmart and added a skirt to it for Valentine’s Day. I figure she can use it as a night gown after the holiday.
Super ninja track pants
Then, I sewed some track pants for Piglet. If I had more of the fabric, I would have made him a top to match so he could have a real ninja suit.
Piglet’s love robot V-Day outfit
Here’s Piglet’s Valentine outfit. Flat-front pants with pockets and and a love robot tee. So cute.
First successful knit dress
I sewed a knit dress for Blueberry and I think it turned out great. I always have trouble with knits. But, if you don’t practice, you won’t get better.
I made some PJ pants and attempted to make a knit tee shirt to match but I failed so hard. The neckline gets me every time. It ended up all stretched out and now his giant monkey stuffed animal has a cool blue shirt to wear. 😉
fat quarter skirt
Here’s the skirt I made on Super Bowl Sunday. One fat quarter and some cute trim my mom gave me. Took 15 minutes maybe. Easy peasy and I’ll probably make more of these. Skirts was one of my goals after all.
What about you? You get any sewing done?
