Call it good timing on our parts, but our baby’s share a birth month. In fact, their birthdays are 9 days apart. Since they’r so close, we did a combined theme and just threw one party for them. Hubs was in the field for Piglet’s birthday (November 20th) and Blueberry’s birthday was the day after Thanksgiving (November 29th) we celebrated them on that Saturday.
I made each kid a crown and a appliqued a dinosaur and their age onto a t-shirt. They turned out too cute! Here’s Piglet on his actual birthday, I got him a giant balloon from Walmart and he was over the moon.
We got Blueberry an easy chair of her own. We got Piglet one on his first birthday and as you can see, it was a huge hit.
Piglet wasn’t in the mood to unwrap presents so we opened his for him. His uncle got him Bucky from Jake and the Neverland Pirates. This is his reaction, he was so excited. He is on a pirate kick and this was just perfect.
And here’s the best we could do at a shot with me and the kids. Piglet is distracted and Blueberry is about to rip her crown off.
Master of the candles. We had to keep lighting them because he’d blow them out before I could get a picture. I made vanilla cupcakes with vanilla frosting and topped each one with a dollar store dino. Too cute.
Of course, my weird kid, wouldn’t actually eat the cake. He just cried over. It’s his party though, right?
My husband missed Piglet’s first birthday and all this time has thought that a “smash cake” means smash your child’s face into the cake. He decided it was time that someone experienced it. Blueberry was not amused.
Overall, it was a nice easy birthday. Hopefully next year, the kids will actually eat the cake I make. I guess I should be happy they don’t have a sweet tooth just yet.
