Well, another kid’s clothes week is over. All the other times, I posted an entry every day showing off what I made but I didn’t want to clog the blog so here’s my roundup! I made almost everything on my list. Just missed one outfit. But I sewed with a lot of knits and those make me go slower than normal. One big thing I learned though is not to skip ironing your hems on knits. It makes them look a billion times better.
First up, Blueberry’s parrot costume. A-DOR-ABLE. I could die. She looks so cute.
Then I made Piglet’s pirate costume. He is a quite a fan. As soon as I put him in it, he couldn’t stop saying “argh” and “ahoy.” It’s definitely a hit.
I also made them shirts and shorts to wear during the day on Halloween. I started doing it last year, making special shirts to wear on holidays. Usually, I just appliqued something onto a shirt from Walmart but I found this fabric and couldn’t resist. Hopefully they aren’t too mad at me for making them matching outfits when they’re older. 😉
Then I made them some pjs. Blueberry got hedgehogs and Piglet got cars. I like this pattern, it’s easy to follow and sews quickly.
Lastly, I made a bathing suit for Blueberry. It didn’t go as well as I thought. The material is super slippery so some parts got a little messed up but that’s okay. She still looks good in it. And I added snaps to the crotch so that diaper changes are quick and easy.
Did you sew for Kid’s Clothes Week? What exciting things did you make? Are you ready for Winter KCW?
