Over the weekend, we made stew. Even though we live on an island and fall isn’t coming anytime soon, we still made something homey.
I threw some beef, carrots, and potatoes in the crockpot along with a seasoning packet for “savory beef stew” from McCormick that I found at the commissary. That was easy enough so I decided to make some rolls from scratch to make the meal a little more special.
They’re pretty easy, no kneading involved! Here’s the recipe:
1 cup warm water
1/3 cup olive oil
1 tablespoon sugar
1 packet of yeast
3 cups flour
Add the water, oil, sugar, and yeast to a bowl and let sit for 15 minutes until frothy. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Slowly mix in the flour. Pick off 12 rolls and let sit for 10 minutes.
Bake for 10 minutes until golden brown. Enjoy!
