When I had Blueberry, I wanted to exclusively pump for 6 months. Blueberry is now 4.5 months old and I’ve had to make a hard choice. Using my pump 8-10 times a day, every single day is a huge task. I’m using the same one that I had with Piglet, which I used for 4.5 months straight, 8-10 times a day as well.
The damn thing is breaking. It doesn’t pump as well anymore. I have no idea why. I think the motor is running out.
Buying a new one isn’t in the budget so unfortunately, I won’t make it to my 6 month goal. I’m pretty sad about it.
I started decreasing the amount of pumping sessions I’m doing so I can gradually dry up and I’ll go back to buying formula – which has gotten more expensive in 2 years.
It sucks but some breastmilk in a baby’s diet is better than none at all so I’m glad I did this much. I’m not sure how long it takes to dry up since last time, I was under so much stress, I couldn’t keep a supply but this time around, I’ve got a good supply. Already, I’ve been feeling heavy and engorged but hopefully, that will end soon enough.
This week has been a hard Mommy week for me. Good thing it’s almost over.
