I thought I’d share another purée recipe. I’ve been making regular applesauce and cinnamon applesauce for a while now but I decided to shake things up this time.
That’s right, we added strawberries! My lovely husband helped cut them up. Even after I told him his hand would become internet-famous, haha.
While those beauties were being cut up, I steamed a bag of Fuji Apples. I used to Gala but Fuji was on sale and I’m all about saving a couple dollars.
It’s important to steam the apples until they are super squishy because then they’re easier to blend. I also stick my applesauce in squeeze pouches and the smoother the fruit, the easier it is for Piglet to eat.
He’s clearly too cool to have to work too hard for his fruit. 😉
Once the apples were steamed, I blended them with the strawberries and loaded up the pouches. Out of 1 pint of strawberries and 1 bag of apples, I got 4 cups of applesauce. A fair amount.
How yummy do those look? Seriously!
