I don’t want to turn this blog into just one about babies but let’s face it, it’s about my life and right now, there’s a baby. I’m surprised I have time to write this actually. I thought I’d be running around like a chicken with my head cut off this week but not quite yet.
The Hubster’s paternity leave is over so he is back at work (even though he had to work while on leave *grumble*) and my parents have gone back home. Monday was the first day with just Piglet, Blueberry, and me.
Blueberry decided not to sleep well Sunday night so I started off the day exhausted. Luckily, while she napped, Piglet napped, and I was able to catch some sleep too. I also managed to wash 2 loads of laundry. Didn’t fold them but whatever. Small steps.
We bought a lot of food so I wouldn’t have to go to the store this week. I’m still nervous about braving the commissary with 2 kids, so food is taken care of. The Hubster has been great about stopping by the store to pick up random little things. Like eggs. And milk. Which we are both out of. Oops.
I was mostly concerned about wrangling a 2-year-old when it was time to feed Blueberry. She is eating breastmilk out of a bottle right now because she can’t latch, so I not only need him occupied while she’s eating but also while I’m pumping. I have taken to locking us all in my room, where I set up my pumping station with some toys and an episode of Phineas and Ferb. So far, it’s worked pretty well. Piglet plays with his toys, Blueberry sits around, and I express. Hopefully, this will continue to work as Blueberry gets older and more mobile.
Having 2 kids is so much more fun than I thought it would be. I can’t wait until Blueberry is awake more, right now, she’s kind of like a piece of furniture.
A cute piece of furniture but still.
