So, I found this pin that linked to a blog and she had made some “moon sand” for her kiddos.
I decided this was going to be our Saturday activity. We had to go to the PX anyway, so I picked up a smallish rubbermaid tub and a couple different bowls and a spoon.
We got home and I whipped it up. 8 cups of flour with 1 cup of baby oil. I had a bottle of baby oil I bought when I was pregnant the first time because it was on every “must have newborn stuff” list but I have NO clue what to use it for. Anyways, we used it for our moon sand.
Here’s what it looked like while I played with it. It was squishy and it holds shapes pretty well. I think it is much cleaner than sand but then I haven’t been to the beach in a while and we don’t have a sandbox so don’t quote me on that.
First, I had Piglet sit at the table and play. He was pretty interested in picking up sand with the spoon and filling up the two cups. He thought it was pretty funny to touch it with his own hands.
Then we stood up and I tried to show him how to make sand castles but he wasn’t having any of that. Every thing I made, he smashed it. We played for about 20 minutes before he started picking up hand fulls and throwing it on the grass.
Then I decided it was time to put it up for now. 🙂
