I’ve been slacking with my workouts. I know, I know. How lazy. We bought the Bowflex Treadclimber so I could work out at home and not worry about what to do with the baby but I fell into a trap of dropping him off at the sitter’s house and coming home to NOT work out. I’d just crawl back into my warm bed and take a nap.
Well, on Saturday, I weighed myself and wanted to cry. The whole “not working out” thing wasn’t working out. I’d gained some weight back.
So, I decided, I’ve got to do this. I paid $2,000 for a home gym. I have to do this.
While Piglet was napping, I did 20 minutes. And on Sunday, I did another 20 minutes while he sat in his swing and watched me. This morning, Piglet and I slept in and I was feeling down so I rushed home at lunch and did another 20 minutes!
I read somewhere once that it only takes doing something 21 days in a row to train your brain to do something. In other words, it takes 21 days to make something a habit. I’m on day 3. I plan on doing 20 minutes the rest of this week and then on Saturday, add 10 minutes, and keep adding 10 minutes until I’m up to 60 minutes of working out.
It shouldn’t be too hard. Before I was pregnant, I used to work out for an hour at a time. That was a year ago, I should be able to get back on track.
